A New Beginning

Bayou Root House was born from a deep love for old Southern magical traditions; the power found waiting in roots and bones, the fervent prayers spoken at the edge of the woods and all the mystery that is woven into Southern life. After 26 years of practicing Southern folk magic traditions from the bayous along the Gulf Coast right on through to the swamps of Louisiana, we felt called to open a space where those traditions could live, breathe, and be shared. As we grow, Bayou Root House will become more than just another conjure shop. We envision a sacred space where people can gather, learn, and reclaim the folkways that have been kept alive in whispers and in worn hands. Workshops, spiritual readings, handmade magickal goods, and community rituals are only the beginning.

More Than a Conjure Shop

We aren't just a shop, we are an educational center. Our passion is for all things spiritual and magical; this includes performing work for others as well as teaching folks how they can do this work for themselves. If you come to us for work or a reading, I can almost promise you that you will have learned something before you leave. Hang around our shop for a day and just listen to the conversations going on and you will learn so much. However, we also host various spiritual and magic classes, coaching sessions, community outreach events, etc.

We don't cut any corners with the materials or the processes involved in making our products. This means you can be assured that every oil, powder, incense, mojo hand or other magickal product you buy from us has been made with passion and a deep attention to detail.
